Came upon spot through to hillside where Indians hold Sundance Ceremony. Big Catholic Missions and lots of Catholic churches throughout reservation. The homes are simply shacks and all of wasteland.
Makes you wonder how you can make a living there. A few beef cattle but is seems they gave the Indians the lousiest land they may find for his or her reservation. Next reached Mission, South Dakota. Passed Fort Randall Dam - dedication overnight. Stopped at wayside over the bank of your river just outside Olivet. Left South Dakota at 2:00 P.M. Arrived at Mason City, Iowa at 5:45 P.M for a motel. Went out to eat with a fancy restaurant called Costos.
