It could be interesting hearing more that job and traveling through North and South Dakota way back in the 1950's and issues you would have experienced while working. How about carrying out a hub on that subject, About that time I was being employed as a sales assistant into a dress salesman which meant mostly placing displays and repacking.I remember the corn palace from then.we traveled most of the Dakotas I recall.
I tried for a newspaper job in Rapid City once but didn't have it.Have been fot it area many times however. It is so nice which you have memories of visiting South Dakota with the parents and that you just are continuing the tradition of creating road trips to South Dakota (and in all likelihood elsewhere also) together with your wife and youngsters.

We went in 2008 and simply this past summer, we like it around. So you produced similar vacation to South Dakota also from the 1950's! Happy that it could reestablish some family memories within your similar journey. Did all your family members collect those state stickers and hang them for the family vehicle, That was popular previously. South Dakota. I was 8 if we made the same trip from Oregon to SD in approximately 1958 within a 1956 Pontiac station wagon with our kids.
