Experience interactive simulators, concert events, look at the rockets on display, meet astronauts, etc. If you're fortunate and you timed your trip right, you may even watch a Shuttle Launch. The Space Shuttle launch schedule is for the Kennedy Space Center website. Closer to the Disney parks is SeaWorld in Orlando.SeaWorld is undoubtedly an aquatic theme park with plenty of educational content. Visiting the USS Constitution can be another must. Your kids can run everywhere in the ship. When I would be a kid, dad took me and my siblings there no less than 50 times and now we never got fed up with it.
I still enjoy it. Tall Ships are awesome which one in particular is only amazing. Also, Boston is usually a mid-sized city with many different interesting sidetrips that may be taken to nearby towns, all under a 45 minute drive. Very near to Boston inside the city of Waltham may be the Museum of Industry.
Lots of neat industrial artifacts and face to face stuff. Older kids and teens will like visiting Salem and many types of the witchy sites such as Salem Witch Museum (a lttle bit macabre, for teens only). The House of Seven Gables is nearby also and the Peabody Essex Musuem has some very nice hands-on interactive exhibits that children will like. In the other way, it is possible to head into Plymouth and visit Plimoth Plantation which is really a living history museum and community about a hour's drive from Boston. That's practically "Nuff said." As it could be the most awesome museum on this planet and it's free.
In fact, practically everything worth seeing in D.C. Depending on how old your kids are, they can find a tour with the major monuments somewhat of a snooze, but I really do not think you are able to go wrong with all with the museums in Washington. I recommend the Smithsonian National Museum of American History as well as the National Air and Space Museum being two of one of the most kid-friendly museums in D.C.
I think the National Parks are perfect, however the young folk may appreciate them more once they get older -- there are numerous though that adventuresome families should enjoy without delay. Carlsbad Caverns can be a massive underground cavern. Kids should receive a kick out of computer as long as they are not afraid from the dark or enclosed spaces. Chosen by Conde Nast patrons as being the top city last year, it certainly has a great balance. We were lucky to possess decided to spend 1 / 2 of our Bali holidays in Nusa Dua and half in Ubud. One evening, we tried the Madibong, a conventional Balinese cuisine therefore we truly enjoyed it. The whole remain in Ubud was obviously a living experience with Balinese culture. Bangkok remains the favourite destination in Asia for many individuals. As their national airlines say, "Sawasdee", smooth as silk. It is easy to head to Bangkok.
